Biathlon Clinics

 

Introduction to Biathlon Clinics:

For the first time or Novice biathlete – A clinic to teach you basic rifle safety, rifle handling, shooting and range procedure.  It is strongly recommended to take this clinic prior to participating in a competition. Instruction, rifles and ammunition provided.

    • ASC Member with trail pass $40; Ages 14-18yrs $25
    • Non Member $60; Ages 14-18yrs $40  (includes skiing for the day)  Limited spaces in all clinics - please pre-register by fax or online (coming soon).  Fees are refundable if we cancel due to weather (except membership dues and any online processing fees) .

 

Improver Biathlon Clinics:

For those who have taken the Introduction to Biathlon clinic at least twice and who are looking for more range practice with tips from the pros.  Marksmanship and Range Procedure focus. Instruction, rifles and ammunition provided.

USBA Red Book Certification

United States Biathlon Association Safety Certification for those with their own biathlon rifle.  Required to enter most masters biathlon races nationwide and Auburn Si Club’s “Pro” races and “open Range” sessions.

Auburn Ski Club Biathlon – Open Range Days

For Biathletes who have their own rifle and who are USBA “Red Book” Safety certified. 

We will be meeting most Friday afternoons from 3:30pm.  (and possibly the occasional weekend day as scheduling and staffing permits).  If you are Red Book Certified through us (or registered with us) or a member of our Junior Biathlon program you will receive emails about our planned schedule.

  • Season Range Pass $100  (Dec 1 – April 30).  Must have membership & season trail pass. 
  • Drop in fee $15.  Must also purchase a trail pass

Junior Biathlon Team   For ages 13 and up

Cost $250*  (FREE to members of ASC Junior Development or Competition Teams)

 Members of the Biathlon Training Group Team must:

  • Be members of Auburn Ski Club Associates – (athletes & both parents) & have paid team dues prior to training
  • Be 13yrs or older and have basic cross country skiing competency (*see below)
  • Be committed to biathlon training this summer and competing in local and regional biathlon competition next winter
  • Be willing and motivated to train at a high level.
  • Be a good team member showing maturity, motivation and a willingness to improve fitness and technique performance
  • Have a signed athlete code of conduct, and waiver on file

*For juniors who are interested in biathlon but do not have cross country skiing skills – we recommend you attend one of our clinics or take a biathlon private first, and if you would like to join the team – you should seek some ski instruction through lessons, clinics or private ski lessons at The Club or commercial ski areas.  Please note – Head Coach reserves the right to exclude athletes who are not displaying the ability / focus, attention to safely practice biathlon. No refunds will be issued in this situation.

Custom Clinics

For ages 8 and up by arrangement
