 The Auburn Ski Club has a long history of hosting World Class ski events. The original Auburn Ski Club Inc is one of the oldest Ski Clubs in the United States.  Founded in 1928, Auburn Ski Club Inc owns the property on which the club’s training center and cross country ski and running trails are located.  A sister organization, Auburn Ski Club Associates was founded in 1964 to promote and run programs and events to encourage lifetime participation in winter sports. Auburn Ski Club has supported a biathlon program and biathlon events for over 25 years. The Club was named a USBA Regional Center of Excellence in the 1980’s.  The Club has also hosted many national Level events:

  • 2004 NCAA Championships
  • 2005 USSA Junior Olympics
  • 2009 USSA Junior Olympics
  • 2012 USBA Summer National Biathlon Championships

Each year the Club organizes many local citizen and school races including 3 biathlon events:

  • The 10th Mountain Division Biathlon Competition
  • A Spring Biathlon Event
  • The Chuck Lyda Memorial Summer Biathlon
 
The Auburn Ski Club Training Center offers:
  • 12 firing point summer biathlon range (50m) with mechanical targets
  • 20km of trails
  • 6000 sq. foot building with locker rooms, gathering and seating areas, kitchen, offices, meeting room, large sun deck, rest rooms, and showers
  • 2000 sq foot Sprung Structure
  • 100+ car parking lot
  • Maintenance garage
