Riders Development Program aka “Devo Riders”
The Development program is a 25 day program for athletes 13-18 years of age both male and female. The program runs from Dec. 1st – April 1st and trains on Saturdays and holidays. Training takes place at Boreal, and Alpine Meadows. The development team is geared towards freeriding and skill development, with training also in Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Boarder Cross, Giant Slalom, and Slalom. The athletes in this program are also encouraged to compete at the local USASA events so that they can decide on what events suit them the best and begin to focus there training on those events. It is in this program that the athlete really decides on where to focus there energy if they choose to move on to one of the upper level teams and really begin to snowboard with a purpose in mind. However if the athlete just wants to remain a recreational snowboarder but keep developing there skills in a team atmosphere, they can stay in the development program up to age 18.
